Maryland man faces various drug charges after raid of motel room
A man from Leonardtown has been arrested in Prince Frederick after a search of his motel room. Maryland police claim that they found various drugs inside the man’s motel room, and he now faces drug charges stemming from these allegations. The man was arrested and taken to the Calvert County detention center.
According to the report, police responded to the motel in Calvert County after receiving a complaint from an anonymous source about a marijuana odor emanating from the man’s motel room. At about 9:30 p.m., police arrived at the scene, and they began to question the man about the complaint. The report does not specify whether the man gave the officers express consent to enter the residence or not, but the officers searched the motel room.
During their search, police claim to have found several illegal drugs and substances. They state that they found a bag of Xanax pills as well as 2.2 grams of marijuana. Police also claim that they found 15 grams of crack cocaine and 150 grams of cocaine. Not only was he arrested, but his vehicle was also seized and remains in police custody pending a search warrant.
The Maryland man faces various drug charges resulting from the incident. However, regardless of any evidence mentioned in the arrest report, every person should remember that all persons facing charges in Maryland are innocent until, and only if, proved guilty in court. That is often easier said than accomplished.
