7-Eleven shooting results in criminal charges in Maryland

The “violent” in violent crimes is there for very specific reasons. Recently, police officers in Maryland heard gunshots coming from the parking lot of a local 7-Eleven and ran to render aid. There, they found a man who had just been shot. Police witnessed the shooter firing at two other men. Now, the presumed shooter will face criminal charges.

According to police, the shooter dropped his weapon and made an attempt to run from them. However, he was quickly apprehended by the authorities. The 25-year-old suspected shooter was charged with two counts each of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault. He also received charges for a weapons offense in relation to the shooting.

As of now, there’s no indication as to what led to the altercation or what events transpired prior to the gunshots. The shooting victim is expected to survive the ordeal. Reportedly, the 21-year-old victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body. Thankfully, these words did not prove life-threatening.

Understandably, criminal charges for violent crimes can result in life-altering consequences. Depending upon the laws of a given state, convictions can result in fines, prison time and probation. The nature of the crime weighs heavily on the associated consequences, and violent crime convictions typically result in substantially harsh consequences. In this case, it is safe to assume the shooter will require a strong defense in order to combat the criminal charges. Maryland residents who are facing criminal charges for violent crimes may find benefit in seeking the aid and guidance from an experienced legal advocate.
