After a woman was found dead in Harford County, the police decided to arrest her son. When the Maryland police arrived at the residence and determined that the woman had been murdered, the son was not home. Reportedly, law enforcement officers tracked him down. He faces serious criminal charges for his alleged violent crimes against his mother.
The police were called to Rushing Stream Court in Harford County. A woman was reportedly found dead upstairs in her residence, and her husband was the person who found her. She had sustained a number of stab wounds as well as other unspecified injuries. She was pronounced dead when the authorities arrived on the scene.
It is not clear why the police immediately suspected the woman’s son to be the murderer. Nevertheless, the authorities began searching for him. They found the son at around 4:30 a.m. as he was driving the family Lexus SUV. He was arrested in Forrest Hill at a local intersection and taken to the Harford County Detention Center without incident.
The son faces criminal charges of both first and second-degree murder, as well as assault with a deadly weapon for his alleged violent crimes against his mother. Often, the most promising lead that the investigating Maryland officers may initially have for a murder suspect is the victim’s family. In this case, the officers suspect the son for reasons not publicly released. As the investigation continues, new evidence could surface that may benefit the son’s criminal defense. In view of the horrifying accusations, it will be crucial to protect the accused man’s legal rights at every stage of the coming criminal proceedings.
