Many of us have grown up dealing with bullies in school. To some extent, bullying comes with the territory of childhood and school. But a recent Maryland case alleges that a young girl took her alleged bullying too far.
That young girl has been arrested and charged with second-degree assault. The charges stem from a sixth grader’s claim that the juvenile suspect attacked her on school grounds. She reportedly suffered a black eye and is still dealing with emotional and physical stress.
Specific details about the young suspect are not available due to her minor status. Based on reports, what is clear, however, is that the alleged assault victim’s mother is extremely upset that a violent incident such as the one her daughter claims took place could happen at a supposedly upstanding school.
The school has actually prohibited the Maryland mom from visiting school grounds without the proper supervision due to claims that she acted out of line during a recent visit. But as the mother says, “I’m really, really upset. I’m not angry. I’m hurt. I’m hurt because I sent my daughter to a school where she is supposed to be protected at and that did not take place.”
So while she might not be allowed to visit and hound the school over their alleged negligence, it sounds like she will not give up her fight for the justice she believes her daughter deserves. We will post an update when details about the assault charges filed against the young girl develop.
