Reality of DUI charges may soon hit TV star

Readers in Baltimore may be familiar with the MTV reality show “Teen Mom” and Farrah Abraham, one of the cast members. In addition to the apparent media attention Abraham has recently received, she was also cited for drunk driving after attending a St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

Since her arrest, the TV star has tried to explain why she failed a Breathalyzer test. According to her public statements, she said that she only went to the party that night to make sure her sister was safe. In addition, she said that she was sick that evening, so having a couple of drinks put her over the legal limit.

In addition, Abraham took to Twitter to address her legal issues. However, she used the social media platform to make a joke about her arrest.

For those facing a DUI charge, which is a serious legal problem that can carry long-term consequences, it may not be wise to speak about the charges in the way Abraham has without first consulting with an attorney. Not only could making a joke about being arrested create a bias against her in court, but her other statements could also be construed as an admission of guilt.

Although most people in Maryland facing drunk driving charges don’t have the kind of public persona that Abraham has, it’s still important to be cautious about what is said about the criminal charges. Prosecutors are very aggressive about pursuing drunk driving cases, so they will likely seize the opportunity to build a case against an accused person.
