Maryland school bus driver possibly facing theft charges

Financial difficulties can often seem like an insurmountable burden to those who have been affected for long periods of time. Because such a burden can cause significant amounts of stress, some people may begin to feel desperate and commit acts that they would not normally carry out. To some facing considerable difficulties, theft may seem like the only option as they continually find themselves unable to alleviate their financial problems.

This appears to have possibly been the case for a Maryland school bus driver who has been taken into custody for allegedly committing two bank robberies and one attempted robbery. Reports state the accused handed a bank teller a note indicating to put money in a bag. After the suspect left the bank, a dye pack that had been placed with the money burst. The accused allegedly returned to the same bank on another date and repeated the action of handing a note demanding money, this time stating there should be no dye pack.

The accused reportedly attempted to commit another robbery at a different bank and was apparently unsuccessful. A worker at that bank, however, took down the tag number of the suspect’s car and gave it to authorities. Police then purportedly used that information to track down the suspect and take her into custody.

It is unclear at this time if the suspect has been formally charged with any specific allegations. Reports stated that she allegedly confessed to authorities that she needed the money in order to pay her bills. It is unfortunate that anyone would be facing such a distressing situation that they could be driven to making such a mistake. Nonetheless, as her case proceeds, she may wish learn more about what circumstances and proceedings she could be facing according to Maryland theft laws and criminal procedures relating to her situation.
