Maryland police arrest 4 on cocaine distribution drug charges

Four different individuals were recently arrested on drug charges by a local drug task force. Allegedly, more than 1.4 kilograms of cocaine was discovered by the task force and one man that was arrested has been accused of being a drug kingpin in the drug charges. The Maryland arrests happened after police executed numerous search warrants on the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 9.

It was a 37-year-old man who was the initial subject of the investigation. The search allegedly found a total of 823 grams of cocaine in this man’s possession. Police also claim to have discovered two long guns and four handguns in the man’s possession.

Police claim to have found over 600 grams of cocaine in the possession of another 39-year-old man who was also arrested. This man, however, has not been accused of being a kingpin by police. Rather, police claim that the first man is the organizer and supplier in the alleged drug chain. The 37-year-old man’s mother informed the judge in his case that she did not know anything about her son being involved in drug distribution. She also made a point of telling the judge that she works as a hairstylist, so she often hears news from a lot of different people.

Regardless of his mother’s support, this man and the other people who were arrested and face Maryland drug charges must put forward a strong and well-thought out legal defense in order to get some or all of their charges dropped. Even if police allege to have discovered a large quantity of drugs, there are defensive strategies that can still be employed. In the best of outcomes, such strategies can serve to get entire cases dismissed and more serious charges dropped altogether.
