Maryland man faces criminal charges of killing baby

A 6-week-old baby has lost her life and her father is being accused of her death. The Maryland man is facing criminal charges after being accused of shaking his baby daughter to death. He has been arrested and charged in this matter.

Authorities indicate that a call was placed to alert medical personnel that there was an unconscious infant in the home. When emergency crews arrived at the residence, the baby was transported to two different hospitals. When examined by medical staff, they observed that she had fractures all over and had hemorrhaging from her brain. When questioned by law enforcement, the man first claimed that his 2-year-old son may have pushed the baby off the bed and that’s how she was injured.

The man eventually informed authorities that he had in fact shook the baby because she would not stop crying and he may have squeezed her too hard. Authorities placed him under arrest and he was charged with reckless endangerment and child abuse. Authorities are planning on adding a murder charge as well. He is being held at the county jail on a $1 million bond.

Tragically, a young baby has lost her life. The man, who is also the father of the child, may also lose his freedom if he is convicted of the criminal charges. The man would greatly benefit from gaining a better understanding of the law and his rights to achieve the best possible outcome. In spite of the unthinkable that he has been charged with, he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty of those charges in a Maryland court of law.
