Maryland man faces criminal charges in alleged armed robbery

Maryland police have arrested a man whom they believe to be connected with a serious crime that occurred earlier this month. Maryland police have accused this man of committing an armed robbery and home invasion. He faces very serious criminal charges resulting from these allegations, and police are still searching for a possible second suspect.

According to the police report, the home invasion occurred on Dec. 5 in Salisbury. Police suspect that the 23-year-old man as well as another suspect entered a residence and held several inhabitants at gunpoint. The two supposedly stole money and other various properties, but, thankfully, no shots were fired and none of the occupants of the residence were injured.

The report does not reveal exactly what led police to suspect and arrest this man; nevertheless, he was arrested and is facing various charges. He faces the charges of burglary, robbery, armed robbery, kidnapping and false imprisonment. He has also been charged with having a handgun on person, first and second degree assault, use of a firearm during commission of a violent crime and theft of under $1,000.

The man is currently booked in the Wicomico Central Booking for an unspecified bond amount. However, in cases such where multiple suspects are involved, it is possible that once another suspect is apprehended and the investigation continues, police may discover that they do not have enough evidence to uphold some, or potentially all, of the criminal charges against the person originally accused. If this situation becomes true, it is likely that some or all of the charges against the Maryland man could be dropped or reduced.
