Man facing mutlple charges for alleged drugs, weapons violations

A 23-year-old man was found hiding in a basement by deputies with the Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities were trying to find another person at that address who had a warrant, but stumbled across this man when searching the basement.

A search warrant was obtained by the Anne Arundel county police for the home. A loaded handgun, several types of illegal and prescription drugs and paraphernalia were allegedly found during the search.

In total, police found 3.5 grams of crack cocaine in 12 baggies, .9 grams of cocaine in one baggie, 1.2 grams of heroin in one baggie, 320 grams of marijuana in 11 baggies, six Xanax pills, a loaded Smith and Wesson pistol, three scales and over $1,000 in cash.

The charges the man faces include possession with intent to distribute cocaine, heroin and marijuana, as well as possession of paraphernalia. He is also charged possession of a handgun by a prohibited person. These charges have serious penalties if there is a conviction.

If you have been charged with any of the above weapons or drug crimes, you will need to present a strong defense at trial. If you so wish, your attorney may see if the prosecution is willing to offer a plea bargain. Remember, though, that a plea bargain is not always the best choice for every defendant. If so, you and your attorney will need to start preparing you defense as soon as possible.
