Man accused of theft charges in convenience store burglaries

A man has been arrested under suspicion of burglary after a traffic stop in Hollywood. Maryland police suspect that the man broke into and burglarized a Burchmart convenience store due to supposed evidence that was seen inside the vehicle, and the man is also suspected of attempting to break into another convenience store. The man faces multiple theft charges stemming from these incidents.

According to the report, a Maryland officer and his K9 unit responded to a glass breakage alarm at the Burchmart. When they arrived, they immediately determined that the building had been forcibly entered, and they saw that items had been taken from the convenience store. At the same time, another officer was conducting traffic stops near the store to see if any suspects turned up.

When the officer stopped the accused man’s vehicle, the officer supposedly saw items that could potentially be evidence in plain sight in the vehicle. The man’s description also purportedly was similar to that of a man who had attempted to break into another convenience store but was unable to. The man was arrested and is being held without bail.

The man has been charged with second-degree burglary and attempted second-degree burglary, and the report states that more charges could be filed depending on the investigation. As the criminal proceedings for the Maryland man’s theft charges move forward, he would benefit from gathering information on our laws and local procedures as well as all of the legal options available to him in his case. He can then use this information to make informed decisions in his criminal defense that are in his best interest.
