Man accused of strong-arm robbery at Bingo World

A 37-year-old man in Anne Arundel County was accused of committing a strong-arm robbery on Oct. 24. At approximately 1:40 a.m., a customer at Bingo World in Brooklyn Park reported a theft to police. According to the customer, a man had grabbed her arm while she was playing a video game at the establishment and forcefully taken her money.

After the report came in, several police officers and K-9 units were dispatched to the area around Belle Grove Road. One of the officers who had been looking for the man spotted someone in the parking lot of 7-Eleven who matched the description the woman had provided. The man then led police on a foot chase before he was finally detained in a residential backyard along Bristol Avenue in Baltimore City.

Police allegedly found the woman’s missing property on the accused man’s person when he was searched. The man was also determined to be in possession of alleged drug paraphernalia. After the woman who reported the incident made a positive identification of the accused man, he was charged for second-degree assault, robbery, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of paraphernalia.

A person who has received charges after being identified by a crime victim may want to seek help disputing the allegations from a criminal defense attorney. An attorney may be able to investigate the incident and determine all of the weaknesses in the prosecution’s case. If the incident occurred in the early morning hours, for instance, a defense attorney may argue that the victim might have been tired or intoxicated when they positively identified the accused person.
