Criminal charges issued in 40-year-old case of missing sisters

A 40-year-old case of two missing sisters is making headlines again. The case of the missing sisters has taken a horrible turn. A sex offender in Delaware is now facing two counts of first-degree murder in that case. The man was recently indicted, but court dates for him to face these charges in Bedford County Circuit Court haven’t yet been set. It has been confirmed that the process of having the man transferred for a trial has begun.

The convicted sex offender is accused of killing the two sisters. Prosecutors also allege that the man abducted the girls with the intent to defile them in a sexual manner. It is believed that the bodies may have been burned in a fire. Some of the man’s family members say that he brought duffel bags to a family-owned property. Those bags are described as smelling like “death.” It has also been said that he brought bloodstained clothing to the property.

There is no word about whether authorities have found the girls’ remains or if there was DNA testing conducted. Prosecutors have said they don’t want to jeopardize the man’s right to a fair trial or the investigation.

A lot of unknowns surround this case. In cases pertaining to crimes that are older, evidence might not be up to par. Other factors might also exist. When a person is facing a charge for an older crime, the defense has to present a strong case. It is often vital to meticulously comb over all evidence in the case before deciding on a strategy for the case.
