3 arrested for theft of residence, 1 more sought

After a recent burglary in Glen Burnie, three people were arrested and one is still being sought in connection with the crime. The Anne Arundel police suspect that all four took part in the burglary of a residence last week. The three who were arrested were charged with burglary in connection with the theft, as well as an additional drug charge.

Around 3 p.m. on a recent Sunday, Anne Arundel officers responded to a call about a possible burglary of a residence in Glen Burnie. When the officers arrived at the scene, they claim that they heard the front door locking and noises from inside the home. The officers supposedly commanded those inside to open the door and come out of the residence, but none of the suspects allegedly complied.

Then, the officers claim that a man attempted to exit the residence through a side window, but he was supposedly apprehended after a brief foot chase. Two women were reportedly removed from the house through a back window and subsequently arrested. An arrest warrant for a fourth suspect has been issued, but it is unclear what charges that individual faces. Exactly what was supposedly stolen from the home is also unclear.

As the criminal proceedings for the accused individuals move forward in a Maryland courtroom, it is important that each accused person protects his or her legal rights. Each person accused must now focus on the specifics of the theft allegations and related charges, and the respective defense counsel will likely assess the evidence prosecutors claim to have accumulated. The criminal charges must be separately proved against each defendant, and there may be opportunities to challenge specific items of evidence or otherwise present a persuasive defense according to the best interests of each accused individual.
