2 Maryland individuals arrested for crack and heroin drug charges

Two individuals have been arrested in Freetown after local police officers executed a search warrant at the couple’s residence. The investigating officers allegedly found drugs and drug paraphernalia at the Maryland home. The two were arrested, and they now face various drug charges stemming from the raid.

The report is unclear as to what led investigating officers to suspect the couple of illegal drug activity. The report also fails to detail what alleged leads or evidence the officers had in order to obtain the search warrant in the first place. Nevertheless, the officers executed the search warrant at about 11 p.m. in Freetown Village.

Inside the residence, the investigators claimed to have found 11.5 grams of crack cocaine, which is worth an estimated $1,000 on the street. Reportedly, they also found 6.28 grams of heroin, which has a street value of around $750. The officers also say they found $468 in cash, digital scales and packaging materials that the authorities suspect were used to distribute the drugs. Both individuals have been charged with possession of crack cocaine and heroin, intention to distribute crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The two individuals are facing very serious drug charges for their alleged crimes. Despite the fact that the investigators claim to have hard evidence against the two people, they are innocent until — and only if — proven guilty. The measure of proof required is defined as beyond a reasonable doubt, and applies to all individuals accused of a crime in Maryland. However, it would be advisable for both individuals to begin forming their respective criminal defenses in such a way that they feel best protects their individual rights and interests.
