2 from Glen Burnie arrested for heroin

A young man and woman where arrested in Glen Burnie after the police conducted a raid on their home and found heroin. The man is 22 years old and the woman is 23 years old, and they lived on Point Pleasant Road. Now, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, they are going to be charged with both possession of the illegal drug and the intent to sell and distribute it to others.

The police were able to recover a grand total of 81 heroin capsules. On top of that, they found 3.44 grams of marijuana, 1.19 grams of heroin, and they also recovered some drug paraphernalia.

Pictures from the scene show the capsules, all arrayed on an orange background, and they also show a small bag of white powder. The marijuana was not pictured.

The police also released the mug shots of the two people in question. The young man has very close-cut hair that has been shaved almost down to the scalp, and the young woman has her hair pulled back and dyed a light pink.

According to Maryland law, the penalty for possession could be a fine of up to $25,000 and or a maximum of four years in jail. If they brought four grams or more into the state, they could face a maximum of 25 years behind bars and fines of $50,000.

The real penalties could stem from the felony charges for selling, though. This starts at 25 years and $25,000, but it could be much more if they sold more than 28 grams, when the charges jump to no less than 40 years in jail.

Individuals who have been charged with drug crimes need to know what rights they have to a fair trial.
